This page explains how to set up an answering machine or automatic call forwarding for incoming calls during the holidays (e.g. long holidays, New Year, and other closed days).
Click Open MiiTel Admin on the top right of the page.
Click Incoming > Automatic Call Forwarding
Click Add new automatic call forwarding.
After you have made the following settings, click Save.
1Name: Enter the title of the automatic call forwarding.
2Destination numbers: Enter the phone numbers (without hyphens) that will receive the call for the automatic call forwarding.
IMPORTANT
Enter the phone numbers without hyphens.
Enter 1 phone number for each row.
You can register up to 5 phone numbers.
Step 2: Set automatic call forwarding to incoming call rule
Click Incoming > Incoming Call Rule
Click Add new incoming call rule.
After you have set the incoming call rule as below, click Save.
1Rule name: Enter the title of the rule.
2Rule description: Enter the description of the rule.
3Action: Select Automatic call forwarding.
4Automatic call forwarding name: Select the name of the automatic call forwarding in Step 1.
5Ring time (seconds): Set the number of seconds to call the destination of automatic call forwarding (the recommended setting is more than 10 seconds).
2. Set filters (the timing to activate the incoming call rule)
Next, you will set the day, the day of the week, and the time to apply the incoming call rule. You can also select a specific day, such as the end of the year, the beginning of the year, or the summer vacation period.
Click Open MiiTel Admin on the top right of the page.
Click Incoming > Incoming Call Filter
Click Add new incoming call filter.
After you have made the following settings, click Save.
1Phone number: Set the phone number to which you want to apply the filter and incoming call rule.
2Day of week: Set the day of the week on which you want to apply the incoming call rule.
3Apply on holidays: Check here, so the incoming call rules will also be applied to holidays. To see the list of holidays, go to Incoming call > Holiday list.
4Incoming call rule: Select the incoming call rule you will be using.
If you wish to set the incoming call rule for New Year holidays, summer vacations, or other specific days, please refer to the below for instructions.
Click Open MiiTel Admin on the top right of the page.
Click Incoming > Incoming Call Filter
Click Add new incoming call filter.
After you have made the following settings, click Save.
1Phone number: Set the phone number to which you want to apply the filter and incoming call rule.
2Month: Set the month you want to apply the incoming call rule.
3Day: Set the specific day you want to apply the incoming call rule.
4Incoming call rule: Select the incoming call rule you will be using.
NOTE
If you want to set the filter for consecutive days that go over to the next month or year, you'll need to create two filters. (For example, you must make two filters if you want to set the filter for December 30 to January 3. One filter for December 30 - 31 and another filter for January 1st to January 3.)
If you want to apply the incoming call rule only during a specific time, you'll also need to set the Starting time and Finishing time.
3. Set filters in order
The filters will apply from the top of the order. If the incoming call does not match the day of the week, time, or other conditions set in the first filter, the call will move to the next filter that matches its conditions.
IMPORTANT
If none of the filters apply to the incoming call, MiiTel Phone will not ring, and nobody will be able to pick up the call, so please check the filter settings carefully and make sure all filters are in the proper order.
The filters that only have Apply on holidays checked and no specific days of the week are set should be placed last in the order.
